Her impressive academic journey includes earning honors from two of the nation's most prestigious ophthalmology programs, the University of Pennsylvania and Duke University. She brings extensive training in both general ophthalmology and specialized retina care, having completed rigorous residency and fellowship programs at these renowned institutions. Dr. Kaplan is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and maintains active memberships in both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, demonstrating her commitment to staying current with the latest advancements in retinal medicine.

Dr. Kaplan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania honors program and obtained her Medical Doctor degree in 2006 from one of the best medical schools in the country. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at the University of Pennsylvania's Scheie Eye Institute, where she received several prestigious awards, including a National Eye Institute award for her research. In 2011, she graduated from a Medical Retina Fellowship at Duke University Eye Center, a top Retina fellowship program.
